The Nominating Sub-Committees have been working diligently over the last month. Following is update on progress as of January 31.
Educating and Communicating: we continue to support other committees in sending diocesan wide announcements and progress reports. FAQs are on-line and we’re gearing up for sharing our profile and receiving applications.
Listening and Surveying: a total of 914 people responded to the online survey. This is an outstanding response rate. Formal interpretation of the survey results and results of the listening sessions were presented to the nominating committee on January 16. A diocesan-wide listening session for youth was held on January 28 at the request of the nominating committee due to low participation by youth in the online survey.
Profiling: we are currently working with a graphic designer to develop our diocesan profile. We collected photographs from around the diocese and have selected many photos for possible inclusion in the profile. We received the results of the survey and the listening sessions, and financial, historical and other statistical information from the diocese. We have just completed a first draft of profile content. We anticipate posting the profile on February 28.
Nominating and Screening: We spent January composing draft questions for applications and screening. Questions span four areas: leadership, theology, pastoral care, and personal inquiry. We began creating an application packet and proposing questions for interviews. We are working closely with the interviewing and discerning subcommittee.
Interviewing and Discerning: we will be meeting in early February to start drafting the video interview questions and exploring the technical requirements of recording and posting those interviews.
